The Ulu knife was their main cutting tool and all-purpose knife used by the Eskimo's.   It was originally made from flat, thin, rocks, slate, or even jade. Handles were fashioned out of wood, ivory, or bone and often decorated with distinctive markings of the craftsman.   It is utilized in applications as diverse as skinning and cleaning animals, cutting a child's hair, cutting food, as a weapon and, if necessary, trimming blocks of snow and ice used to build an igloo.

Our Pocket Ulu are a rare knife that offer a variety of options to utilize this unique knife.
