This beautiful replica Sperm Whale Tooth weighs 11.35 ounces.  The dimensions are 6.04" x 2.50"x 1.79".  The item number is SP - 08.

The Susan's Tooth was a Whale tooth engraved by Frederick Myrick of Nantucket while on a voyage aboard the Whaleship “Susan” during the years 1826-1829.  On the tooth, above the text is a pair of crossed American flags.  On the opposite side above the text is an engraved anchor.  Under the text is a spread winged eagle clutching arrows and clutching a banner in his beak with the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM." On the back is an artwork depicting the ship "Susan".  To the right are three whaleboats and two whales.  Above the ship is a banner which states: "The Susan on the coast of Japan whaling."  On the leading edge of the tooth is the saying:  "Death to the Living long life to the killers Success to sailors wives & greasy luck to whaler's"

The reverse of the tooth depicts the "Susan" sailing towards the light house, Above the "Susan" is a banner stating "The Susan on her homeward bound passage."  Along the bottom edge of the tooth near the base is the following text in large letters, "Ship Susan of Nantucket."

The resin scrimshaw piece is hand etched on corian, which cuts like ivory.  We then make a mold of the original piece and do an open cast pour of our resin mixture.  The pieces are removed from the mold and sanded and inked.

We believe that serving nature is one of the commissions that we as humans have been given here on earth.  We wish to lend our resources to those charged with protecting elephants from poaching for their ivory.

On a monthly basis we donate to organizations whose purpose to protect the elephants and other species throughout the planet.  We focus our donations on organizations that put the money to good use and have a low overhead. With the majority of incoming funds going back to saving the elephants!
