This stunning originally hand etched Eagle design on a Kershaw 1600 Chive Speedsafe Assisted Opening Pocket Knife. The back of the knife has a belt clip/ money clip and the knifes come with the pictured sheath. It is a lock blade knife and a useful pocket knife. The artwork was originally hand etched by Linda Layden. The dimensions of the Kershaw 1600 Chive Pocket knife with the blade closed are 2.95" x 0.92" x 0.53". The blade itself is approximately 1.9" making the width of the knife with an open blade 4.85". The SKU is NC 1600 - 113.

Linda Layden has been making beautiful works of art in the scrimshaw field for over 40 years. Originally a hobby that became a full time job. Her work can be found in gift shops, galleries and museums across the world.
It is a bead-blasted 1. 9” high-performance blade made of 420HC steel offers good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. With a matching stainless steel handle is resistant to corrosion and also finished with a non-reflective matte bead-blasted finish. The acrylic resin is placed on top of the handle. Handle features SpeedSafe assisted opening, secure frame lock, Tip-lock slider and convenient single-position pocket clip. Capable of everyday cutting tasks at home or at work such as cutting zip-ties, stripping small wire, slicing fruit and removing staples. The resin scrimshaw piece is originally hand etched on Corian. We make a mold of the original piece and do an open cast pour of our resin mixture. The pieces are removed from the mold and sanded and inked.
We believe that serving nature is one of the commissions that we as humans have been given here on earth. We wish to lend our resources to those charged with protecting elephants from poaching for their ivory.
On a monthly basis we donate to organizations whose purpose to protect the elephants and other species throughout the planet. We focus our donations on organizations that put the money to good use and have a low overhead. With the majority of incoming funds going back to saving the elephants!
